Established in 2006, the Burnaby Mountain Selects Field Lacrosse Program is an amateur sports organization formally recognized as one of the top professional teaching clubs in North America, as a member of the National Scholastic Club Lacrosse Association (NSCLA). The NSCLA restricts its’ membership to the best club lacrosse programs in the USA and Canada, who are dedicated to helping athletes achieve success both on the field and in the classroom via a commitment to the sport of lacrosse. With a comprehensive curriculum of development programs and support resources, the Burnaby Mountain Selects Elite Touring Team Model is the first of its kind in Canada, and a leader in mentoring top young lacrosse players in a high performance environment, with the fundamental objective of best preparing each participant for a collegiate field lacrosse career. Selection and consideration into the program is reserved for a select group of elite student-athletes, who possess the desire to work hard and learn in a competitive team environment, while demonstrating the ability to prioritize their academic goals in the highest regard.

The Elite Touring Team program follows the same collegiate template as the Simon Fraser University Men’s Lacrosse program, a Division I member of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA). One of the top varsity-club field lacrosse programs in North America, the Clan have captured a record nine PNCLL Conference Titles and rank sixth all-time with eleven MCLA National Championship tournament appearances, placing 2nd in 1999 and playing in the 2010 MCLA Semi-Finals, after reaching the Quarterfinals in 2008 and 2009.

Proud to be Western Canada’s most accomplished club lacrosse program, more than 650 athletes in grades 5-12 have participated in the Selects program from 57 different communities across British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, BC Coast, BC Interior, Northwest and Eastern Washington State, Northern Idaho and Montana.

In addition to on-field practices, speed training, academic support, and health services, the Selects travel to compete in top college recruiting tournaments throughout North America, achieving Top 4 finishes at 32 international events since 2006 and helping to place over 50% of graduating players in collegiate field lacrosse programs. Following the inaugural BMS graduating class in the spring of 2007, the Burnaby Mountain Selects have helped to produce more than 200 college commitments, 41 Collegiate All-Americans, 28 National Team selections, and 13 Professional Players / Draft Picks.
